Title: Airline Operations Consultant
Contract Type: Freelance / Yearly Contract
Expected Start Date: 1 May 2026
Compensation: €4,000 per month (Freelance Consultant)
Location: Brussels, Belgium (Remote working permitted for part of the week)
 
Our client is seeking an Airline Operations Consultant to provide operational expertise in support of regulatory and advocacy initiatives. This role requires strong airline operational knowledge and the ability to work independently and alongside a small legal team.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert operational input to support advocacy work related to new and evolving EC aviation regulations.
  • Act as an operational subject-matter expert, advising legal and policy teams on airline operational practices.
  • Interpret and apply airline operational procedures, with particular emphasis on the Operations Manual (OM).
  • Support regulatory analysis by translating operational realities into practical and compliant recommendations.
  • Collaborate with a small team of legal professionals while maintaining the ability to work autonomously.
  • Contribute operational insight drawn from airline experience in areas such as flight operations and operational control.
Candidate Profile
  • Minimum of two years' experience working in the Operations Department of an EU airline, ideally within the Operations Control Centre (OCC) or Flight Operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of airline operational procedures and documentation, especially the Operations Manual (OM).
  • Some experience in flight planning is an advantage but not essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and to provide expert operational support to legal and advocacy teams.
  • Fluent English is required with a working knowledge of French being an advantage
