- Job Title: Director of Quality, Compliance & Operational Systems

Our client is a fast-growing aerospace and defense business supporting U.S. Government and commercial aviation programs, including critical platforms such as the KC-46. They are currently seeking a Director of Quality, Compliance & Operational Systems to lead quality, regulatory compliance and operational process excellence across the organization.
This is a hands-on leadership role focused on building and maintaining a highly disciplined, audit-ready environment, ensuring compliance across government contracts, export regulations, traceability, documentation and operational systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain the company’s Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001 / AS9120 standards and customer requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for DCMA, DoD/USAF customers and prime contractors, ensuring full contractual and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee audit activities, non-conformance management and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain an audit-ready operating environment.
- Ensure strict compliance with packaging, labeling, traceability and export control requirements, including ITAR/EAR regulations and military standards.
- Drive operational discipline across ERP and CRM systems, ensuring alignment between inventory, orders, shipments and financial reporting.
- Manage supplier quality, process documentation, SOP governance and change management across the organisation.
- Build KPI-driven reporting and lead cross-functional initiatives to improve quality, delivery performance and operational efficiency.
- 7+ years’ experience within aerospace, aviation or defence quality, compliance or operational leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 / AS9120 environments, government contract compliance and audit management.
- Experience with packaging, traceability, export compliance (ITAR/EAR) and documentation control.
- Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams within regulated environments.
- Strong systems and data management capability, ideally with ERP/CRM platforms such as Salesforce or Avsight.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting military aviation programmes, DCMA or prime contractor environments would be advantageous.
