Our client offers life-cycle support services for fixed wing aircraft, helicopters armoured vehicles and weapon systems on the international market. Their strategy is to enlarge local presence in various countries by establishing new local units, which would work in close co-operation with local defence and governmental customers.
We are now searching for an experienced Sales Director / Key Account Manager to join their expanding business, the ideal candidate will come from a background within Defence, aviation & Aerospace or Governmental institutions.
Key Responsibilities:- Business Area / Market Area KAM
- Capture Lead in respective Business / Market Area or specific customer
- Central POC towards customer managing all aspects of customer relations in order to position the full cross domain portfolio to the customers in order to generate short and long-term opportunities
- Developing a complete understanding of key account needs to build a solid and trust and confidence between major key customers for customer satisfaction analyze and prioritization of corrective actions.
- Understanding customers capability demands and acquisition process
- Ensuring effective communication between key account and internal teams (sales, portfolio, operations). Promotes awareness among the account.
- Prepare, contribute or lead discussions reflecting the customers’ intent and desires in Capture Plans, to the portfolios and operations for the submission of bids and proposals.
- Active participation in bid and proposal preparations, contract negotiation with customers to ensure successful closure. Continual support of successful bids in customer engagement and expectation management.
- Establish and monitor order intake forecasts in support of the Sales Team to ensure sales data are updated and consistent with the PSL/Gs.
- Business / Market Area sales funnel management and pipeline development
- Responsibility to certain Gate decisions & preparations
- Business / Market Area sales team performance management and responsibility
- Escalation point from Operations point of view in delivery phase related to customership mgmt and contract issues
Essential Requirements:
- Relevant academic education and background, military and/or defence industry background
- University degree from relevant field
- 10+ years of experience in working with international sales and business development roles, plus if experience also from structural arrangements (M&As, JVs) but this is not mandatory
- working experience from defence and governmental customer domain and customer sales contracting experience in this environment
- Preferable experience from complex technical project/product domain, aviation and defence background a plus but not mandatory
- Fluent written and spoken English, other language competence a plus
