Operations Engineer

The Operations Engineer will be responsible for delivering critical business intelligence, optimisation, process reviews, programming & statistical analysis to solve operational challenges, which will involve the allocation and control of efficient, cost/demand based resource. Experienced in developing mathematical optimisation techniques, probabilistic and statistical methods, experiments and computer simulations to help inform and solve business decisions.

Reviewing operational efficiency of resource and processes within Security, Customer services and Engineering functions, while reviewing operational departments to improve processes. Working with Heads of departments to create a workforce which is multi skilled, through high productivity, delivering a service based on real time operational metrics and dashboards.

Principal Accountabilities / Main Responsibilities:

• Analytics responsibilities - Effective business analytics of intelligence, aligned to strategy development, process and resource efficiencies via management reports that clearly define and analyse issues, and recommend solutions to support management to make informed decisions.
• KPIs, reporting and measurement - Take full ownership to identify and structure data from different sources to specify input for optimisation models, which deliver key performance indicators and metrics relevant to particular stages of operational & customer engagement, safety & compliance within the airport to drive optimisation objectives.
• Drive the development of mathematical & statistical models - Through the design and creation of user friendly GUI’s, reports to facilitate data driven optimisation models and scenario comparisons, while supporting a safe and compliant operational environment.
• Drive opportunities to transform the customer journey and experience across the company, liaising with key operational stakeholders, Airlines, Government agencies and Handling agents to deliver data driven decision making applicable to the airport environment.
• Collaborate, support and promote engagement with numerous departments and airline partners, through operational efficiency and effectiveness by implementing and maintaining solutions based on operations research.
• Developing mathematical optimisation techniques to provide and analyse the impact of multi skilled resource levels on key operational tasks & compliance, during peak operational flying periods.
• Lead and support on the development of innovative tools, systems and analysis, to understand activities undertaken by competitors with a focus on recruitment, communication and overall customer touch points.
• Support in planning Operational staffing, managing projects focused on the development and implementation of optimised solutions which support strategic decisions and day to day airport operations.
