- Job Title: Aircraft Mechanic (Entry Level II)
Location: Filton, UK.
Work Type: Contract / Freelance
Rate: £22.96/Hr
Duration: ASAP – 6 Months +
Our client is a global pioneer in the aerospace industry, operating in the commercial aircraft, helicopters, defence and space sectors, leading the designing, manufacturing and delivering aerospace products, services and solutions to customers on a worldwide scale.
What you'll be doing:
General tasks include the use of power tools for drilling, shimming and sealing. 1st Party certification may be required following successful completion of the relevant course. Requires Indentured apprenticeship and time served experience, or Modern apprenticeship and NVQ 2&3 in relevant Engineering discipline and ideally Aircraft Engineering experience. Working and completing tasks to manufacturing and engineer instructions and drawings, to defined standards. Working in a confined space may be required.
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year experience as an aircraft mechanic
- To be able to work from engineering instructions and understand Aircraft Drawings
- To be able to complete tasks to the required standards
- General tasks include the use of power tools for drilling, shimming and sealing
- 1st party certification will be required following successful completion of the relevant courses.
- There may need to be work in a confined space (tank work), which includes restricted and physically demanding wing access and egress through oval shaped manholes.
- Qualities:
- To be self-motivated with the ability to work alone or within a team environment.
- Good communication skills and self-confidence.
- To embrace lean manufacture and other Airbus initiatives.
