Job Title: Product Assurance Engineer
Location: Stevenage, UK 
Work Type: Contract/Freelance
Rate: £39.69/Hr
Duration: ASAP - 12 Months+

 
The job holder will perform the role of a project PA Manager in the projects Sample Fetch Rover and ExoMars Rover. In this role they will assist the Program Quality Manager (PQM) and will perform certain PA activities on a project level.

In these activities, the PA Engineer will assure the quality of the project deliverables and is responsible for all quality and safety aspects within these activities.
 
Alongside this main task the PA Engineer will drive improvement activities on a department and a project level and will contribute to performance dashboarding of our activities.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure fulfilment of Program PA and Safety requirements on project level in cooperation with the Program Quality Manager (PQM)
  • Report to and consult the Program Quality Manager about process and product quality aspects in the course of the project lifetime.
  • Report and support to the Project Managers about project level process and product quality aspects.
  • Review and treat quality events, give regular quality status and assist the PQM in managing of major customer related quality tasks and events.
  • Report to the independent quality hierarchy about the project quality status.
  • Management of NCRs from initialisation, root cause analysis, correction and prevention to close-out
  • Participation in project reviews as focal point for quality topics
  • Propose process improvements throughout the project lifetime and initiate their inclusion into the BMS
  • Identification of Lessons Learnt and management of Lessons Learnt team sessions
  • Contribute to the continuous processes reviews and improvements
  • Collect quality and performance data, develop KPIs and run efficient dashboards
  • Contribute to company improvement activities like OES and Smart Quality and implement the initiatives in the project.
Skills/Experience Required
 
  • Degree in spaceflight technology or mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Knowledge of quality management processes
  • Experience in space or aerospace projects
  • Communication skills to negotiation
  • Analytical skills
  • Open minded, interest in PA/QA in space project and in improvement activities
