We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our client based in Bristol Airport on a full time, permanent basis.
Overseeing electrical infrastructure across the Airport; you’ll ensure our infrastructure is fit for purpose through developing and managing technical standards, quality assuring engineering and the development on ongoing projects. This role would suit an experienced Chartered Electrical Engineer looking for their next exciting opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing technical expertise for electrical disciplines for ongoing and future development and asset replacement projects, including, but not limited to; HV, LV distribution systems, fire and life safety systems, Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS), baggage handling systems, lighting and emergency lighting, lifts and escalators, access control systems, Potable water systems, boiler and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
- Managing the infrastructure electrical projects across the business ensuring; Health, Safety and compliance, projects achieve current industry best practices; project costs are fully recorded; and operational teams fully briefed as work progresses.
- Developing, updating and maintaining technical specifications and drawings for all electrical aspects of infrastructure developments
- Analyse and review our electricity, gas, fuel oil and gas consumption to identify potential savings and efficiencies
- Act as our Senior Authorised Engineer, overseeing and reviewing ongoing site-based work to ensure standards are being met and systems are being installed to design.
- Developing business cases and prepare supporting paperwork to gain financial approval for project works, whilst reviewing and evaluating the whole life costs and aligning with our Asset Management model.
- Reviewing technical information contained within O&M manuals, ensuring content is correct, updating and developing new PPMs for new or replaced assets.
- Leading, own and manage our electrical safety rules and procedures within the Engineering department, continuously reviewing and evaluating them to ensure full departmental compliance.
- You’ll be a Chartered Electrical Engineer with a Degree or other recognized, equivalent qualification, in either Electrical Engineering.
- Demonstrable experience with High Voltage Electrical Installations, preferably as an SAP (Senior Authorised Person.)
- You’ll have excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationship with colleagues and external stakeholders
- Excellent practical knowledge of health & safety, with demonstrable experience of developing and implementing procedures and best practice.
- ICT savvy and able to utilise technology to innovate and drive efficiency.
- You’ll have strong organisational, planning and prioritisation skills with the ability to juggle multiple challenges and initiatives at any one time.
- Adaptable to change with the Flexibility allowing 24/7 availability as occasionally required to support teams during exceptional events or during difficult projects.
