- Title: Regional Manager
Location: Hertfordshire, England
Salary: £70k - £80k + £20k-£30k Bonus
Work Type: onsite, and a degree of hybrid
Our client is Europe’s Leading Independent Supplier of Technical Documentation and Training Support Services within the defense, aviation & aerospace industries. The Regional Manager is responsible for the performance of the UK company, as dictated by the board’s directors and overall strategy. The Regional Manager reports to the Business Unit Director or board of directors.
Main Responsibilities include:
- Formulating and successfully implementing company policy;
- Directing strategy towards the profitable growth and operation of the company. The company is made up of two technical centres, and can be extended according to the local potential;
- Developing strategic operating plans that reflect the longer-term objectives and priorities established by the board;
- Maintaining an ongoing dialogue with Business Unit Manager and the board;
- To maintain and develop adequate operational planning and financial control systems;
- To ensure that the operating objectives and standards of performance are not only understood but owned by the management and other employees;
- Closely monitoring the operating and financial results against forecasts and budgets;
- Taking remedial action where necessary and informing the board of significant changes;
- Maintaining the operational performance of the company;
- Assuming full accountability to the board for all company operations;
- Representing the company to major customers and professional associations;
- Building and maintaining an effective executive team.
Typical Workload
- Monitoring the performance of other managers and production coordinators, you will be required to perform various tasks as required.
- Meet directly with clients or potential clients (especially for large contracts) and develop them where possible.
- Providing training and guidance to other managers and staff members as required.
- Developing training materials including the quality and the security processes.
- Creating, revising, and reviewing schedules to make sure that each department has sufficient staff coverage on a daily basis.
- Identifying weaknesses or inefficiencies and develop ways to increase productivity in these areas.
- Working closely with the Business Development Director on many projects that require tendering and risk assessment.
- Attending and chairing monthly Management Review meeting covering Finance, Sales, Recruitment, Quality and Security.
- Assisting, reviewing and approving the monthly company accounts.
Essential Requirements:- 5+ Years in a similar leadership role within Aviation, Defence, Aerospace, Engineering
- Ability to lead a team of 52 people
- Previous experience managing budgets of at least 4 million
- A university Degree
- Experience in sales, business develop, key account management
- Have a positive, solution oriented attitude
