- Broughton (hybrid working 60% onsite and 40% WFH)
12-month contract – highly likely to be extended
Standard 35 hours per week (working 4.5 days between the hours of 7am – 7pm, hours agreed at business discretion)
A position has become available for a Manufacturing Engineering Tools Development Engineer.
Working within the Jigs and Tools team, the successful candidate will ensure implementation of new, duplicated and modified tooling needs to the operational teams to the required H&S and Ergonomic standards.
They will liaise with key stakeholders at all levels and manage suppliers to meet required time frames.
The jobholder will:
· Ensure successful industrialisation of Jigs and Tools assets (creation, development and modification) until final acceptance and handover to the corresponding Operations Manager.
· Integrate mature industrial technologies in link with R&D. Collaborate with R&D to integrate requirements and consolidate Airbus Industrial Vision.
· Design and/or specify the requested Jigs and Tools assets according to requirements from Manuf. Engineering Process Engineer, Operations, Health and Safety and Ergonomics, Maintenance Engineer and Plant/ FAL Quality Assurance Representative for Jigs and Tool or representative.
· Ensure the provided solution is fully integrated within the industrial system through a robust acceptance process set on defined Key Performance Indicators.
· Integrate Maintenance inputs/feedback in J&T Work Specification
· Support Finance activities to elaborate the CapEx and/or OpEx dossier.
· Support Plants/ FALs in all the activities where a Jig and/or Tool asset is involved.
· Support root cause analysis of Non-Conformities and improvement projects.
· Contribute to the purchasing phases of the Jigs and Tools assets.
Task & accountabilities:
Main inputs are:
· Jigs and Tools Requests from: Routings Machines and Systems Measurement Systems Ground Test Equipment Jigs and Tools Technical Requirements from: Maintenance Numerical Control Machines and Systems Measurement Systems
· J&T Technical Data Packs at milestones during a project (CAD files, certificates, etc.)
· Qualified Jigs and Tools assets.
· Design and definition of the Jigs and Tools assets including operator and maintenance manuals.
· Definition of the certification, re-certification, qualification and re-qualification process, features and schedule.
· Jigs and Tools assets Technical Specification
· Jigs and Tools Technical Acceptance Reports ¤ Jigs and Tools assets Design and Manufacturing data set.
Other responsibilities:
· Jigs and Tools Tool Request: analysis, assessment and acceptance.
· Jigs and Tools Technical Project leader.
· Jigs and Tools MFT creation.
· Jigs and Tools Project suppliers technical down selection.
· Jigs and Tools Project supplier follow
· Jigs and Tools Design and Manufacturing Data Set: creation, acceptance and validation
· Jigs and Tools Manufacturing Acceptance follow up (Plant/ FAL Quality Assurance for Jigs and Tools or representative is accountable for the Jigs and Tools Acceptance).
· Jigs and Tools definition for Maintenance, Training, Recertification and re-calibration
Jigs and Tools Handover to Operations.
