Role Overview:The Airbus A400M wing design office is responsible for generating repair solutions for in-service occurrences to A400M wings. This includes all customer aircraft and can vary from repairs identified during scheduled maintenance to unplanned events such as bird strikes. The A400M wing is assembled from metallic and composite components.The team is looking for an engineer who will contribute to the development of repair solutions and potentially review and approve solutions developed by others. An existing RTE (or similar) qualification will be advantageous. All applicants will need to pass the MiIAM A400M accreditation process in addition to regular security clearance.
Responsibilities:• Assessment of damage reports.• Development of repair solutions.• Review of the SRM (Structural Repair Manual).• Review of the AMM (Aircraft Maintenance Manual).• Interrogation of CAD and other design data.• Interactions with stress, fatigue, manufacturing and materials & process engineers.
Skill Set:Essential:• Catia V5 interrogation and part / assy construction.• Interrogation of engineering data – BoM, 2D drawings, 3D models, DMU assemblies, reports etc.• Documenting engineer data as above.
Desirable:• Use of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) Tools such as PASS, Enovia.• Previous Airbus product experience.• Previous Airbus product toolsets.• Previous Airbus signatory delegation. Some "out of hours" / standby work is anticipated. Airbus has successfully established hybrid working so remote working for a percentage of each week will be considered.
