Description
Role: Specialist Technician - Radomes & MLI
Location: Stevenage - This role will be working on-site full time - free parking is provided
Rate of Pay: Please apply for further details 
Working Pattern: 37 hours per week - Monday to Friday days - ad hoc opportunity for working extra hours mid-week & weekends
Travel: Occasional travel to other UK sites
Length of Contract: 12 months - Possible extension after initial contract duration

Job Summary:
Working within the Equipment’s KPO specifically employed within the Radomes/MLI product team to deliver aircraft/spacecraft critical components on quality, on cost and on time.
The Radome products are manufactured using various composite materials requiring a highly complex set of skills to produce a consistent high quality product in line with production paperwork and in conjunction with the required quality standards.
The MLI products can consist of MLI (Multi-layer Insulation), DLI (Dual-layer Insulation) and SLI (Single-layer Insulation).
The technician would be expected to use and cut a number of materials on a high precision cutting machine.
The technician shall be trained and certified as competent in the required skills as dedicated by the area skills matrix.
To undertake production activities in the required timescale in line with the production plan.

Reporting To: Production Manager and Lead Technician

Internal Team Relationships: Production Manager and Lead Technician

External Team Relationships: Production Control, Shop Floor Engineering & Inspection and Project Manager

Job Profile:
Working as part of the AIT team on aircraft/spacecraft products. To consistently produce items which conform to all quality requirements in accordance with the production plan.
Work to the required process standard as dictated by the relevant area skills matrix.
Ability to read and work to shop floor documentation such as routings, drawing, work instructions and bills of material.
Responsible for the completion of all paperwork relating to the operations undertaken, including traceability stamps and recording any other additional information as required.
Responsible for working to and complying with standard processes and health and safety requirements.
From time to time you may be asked to work off site, this may be in UK or abroad.
To play an activate part in continuous improvement activities.

Skills/Experience Required:
Essential:
Familiarity with shop documentation such as drawing, work instructions and bill of materials to standard processes and procedures will be an advantage.
Technicians work as a part of a flexible, motivated team working to tight schedules and meeting deadlines.
Must have good composite/mechanical knowledge and technical understanding, with experience to suit.
The candidate will have a minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience.
