Role Overview:A vacancy for an electrical design engineer has arisen within Airbus Commercial Aircraft in Filton. You will join the Test Centre (1VM) and will contribute to the development and maintenance of the Fuel and Landing Gear test benches.
There are a variety of different test benches on site (standalone test benches, integration benches, landing gear zero means) which are typically used for the validation and certification of new avionics and system functions for Fuel and Landing Gear Systems.You will join a multi-disciplinary team: Test Means Architecture & Integration (1VMIF)
Responsibilities:• Provide technical support to all in-service test benches, performing investigations and diagnostics to remedy in-service electrical issues• Deliver technical solutions to meet test bench modification requirements• Design, Test and Verify the modification.• Working on larger scale electrical design projects, delivering a complete test rig as part of a team• Act as a Focal Point Test Benches and the Electrical team, capturing new requirements and working to reduce the number of outstanding technical issues• Provide Architecture Design Solutions/ Electrical Component electrical schematics• Specify Instrumentation for a range of different measurements (Pressure, Flow, Voltage, Current, etc…) • Update existing technical documentation and/or deliver new technical documentation for a modification
Skill Set:Essential:• Electrical Design Tools (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, KiCad)• Understanding of Electrical design principles and Electrical systems• Understanding of Testing principles• Electronic Circuit Design• Experience with instrumentation• A basic understanding of Fuel / Landing Gear Systems• Knowledge of avionic data busses (A429, CAN, AFDX)• Knowledge of avionic hardware interfaces (discretes, analogues)• Team spirit and agility
