Location: Filton – hybrid 60% on site as a minimum
Length of Contract: Until the end of 2023
Working Pattern: Standard 35 hours across 4.5 days (working between 7-7 at business discretion)
Travel: Potential travel to Broughton on occasions

Role Overview:
A Vacancy has arisen within the Filton Plant for a Process Performance Engineer. The Process Performance Engineer (PPE) Responsibility is to define the best industrial sequence of work to be operated on the shop Floor, optimizing overall Spent Time by Aircraft.
● During serial production by designing the best Standard Line Balancing to perform operations for each Blue Collar/Operators
● Collecting and analyzing data to optimize production line performance and efficiency (time analysis, observation, improvement projects...)
You will be part of the Manufacturing Organisation, providing ME support to a wide range of projects that could include A400M, A350 Wing, Additive Manufacturing and R&T Projects such as Wing of Tomorrow.
The Filton Plant ME team are a mixture of technical experts and project managers who are all passionate about finding technical solutions to support Filton Plant work packages.
The successful candidate will join a team of Professional Engineers in the support of production through Collaborative-Design to Manufacturing, contributing to all phases of the design to ensure industrial needs are taken into account.
This exciting and varied role will offer the successful candidate an opportunity to build on your existing skills and work on the implementation of new technologies, digitization & Ethical Design for Manufacture.

Responsibilities:
• Industrial Process Diagram scenario (Program Evaluation and Review Technique)
• Create and Maintain PERT Chart in MFT (Multi-functional team)
• Create and maintain the SLB in MFT including Line Balancing per MSN (per line)
• Technical and Balancing Critical path and station
• White Space reduction action plan and Red Space analysis maximizing CVAT efficiency
• Process improvement/Spent Time reduction/Serial allocated time optimization
• Identify and share best practices across stations/CDTs/BME (Business Methods Engineer to Plants/FALs) to improve efficiency
• Publish the Line Balancing per MSN and thus enable Production Pace Control (PPC)
• Manage performance:
o Capitalize and maintain the constraints list which impact SLB (with evaluation of the impact)
o Identify Technical, Manage Balancing Critical path and maximize station capacity utilisation (frame of continuous improvement)
o Create and Maintain White Space reduction action plan and Red Space analysis to maximize CVAT efficiency (in the frame of Continuous improvement of SLB through efficiency loss reduction) + lead associated performance review
o Propose improvement based on analysis of manufacturing performance and disruptions PARETO
o Improve Process and Serial Allocated time via VA/NVA analysis and shop floor process observation

Skill Set:
Essential:
• Understanding of aircraft product design, assembly and procedural processes, particularly wing
• Good Written, verbal and communication skills
• Good level of computer skills, preferably Google “G Suite”, SAP etc
• Good level of SAP experience

Desirable:
• Experience in application of Export Control, Cyber Security and Health / Safety legislation into manufacture
• Experience in the use of design software Catia, 3dx etc.
• Knowledge of ICY, Key Characteristics & Metrology would be advantageous
• Experience of planning within SAP
