- Role: Operations SpecialistRate of Pay: Please apply for further detailsLocation: Broughton, Flintshire – onsite working requirementWorking Pattern: Standard 35 hours per week (working 4.5 days between the hours of 7am – 7pm, hours agreed at business discretion)Length of Contract: Until 31/12/2023The successful candidate will carry out investigations relative to material/chemical analysis, they will have your own dedicated tasks to fulfil, supported by the team where necessary, some examples as below:Mechanical - Carrying out all testing of mechanical nature - such as the control of heat treatment, tensile mechanical testing and process coupon checks of riveting stacks for countersink gapping.Chemical - Control of process in Surface Treatment Facilities, chemical analysis and associated performance check of equipment and consumables.Metallurgical - Investigation of product/material non-conformance including material failures and fractures, approval of specialist manufacturing personnel, and assessment of suppliers' technical capabilities.They will contribute to root cause analysis into reported quality / technical issues from the business team and customer, to ensure appropriate containment and corrective action is taken by the accountable function through multifunctional teams.They carry out Operational Surveillance, related to the treatment methods and processes. They will also provide feedback and coaching to Operations & Support Functions on Quality issues and observations found during Operational Surveillance.Task & Accountabilities:· Carrying out Investigations· Analysis & report findings to the relevant functions· Liaising with different functions to ensure amendments are captured· Looking for improvement opportunities· Liaising with suppliers to ensure we have a harmonised approach of processes· Delivering Changes/ best practices, synergies and promoting business excellence· Operational Surveillance
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:· The application of knowledge to HND or degree level, or equivalent appropriate experience.· Interest in Science/Metallurgy/Chemistry· Adherence to processes· Confident to work autonomously but works well in a team· Strong communication skills· Excellent research and presentation skills· Demonstrated ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels· The ability to operate from first principles in any area requiring business or technical skills and knowledge· SAP training and awareness.· An understanding of Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques.· Laboratory experience is preferred· Knowledge of analytical methods / instruments ie, Tensile testing, ICP, IC & XRF techniques is preferred· English language at negotiation level, other languages would be an asset.· Microsoft/G-suites knowledge: Advanced
