Description
Role: Supply Chain Engineer - Industrial Means
Rate of Pay: Please apply for further details 
Location: Stevenage - Permanently on-site – free parking is provided
Working Pattern: 37 hours per week - Monday to Friday days. Core hours
Length of Contract: 6 months - Possible extension after initial contract duration
Travel: Occasional travel to other UK sites
Job Summary:
To support the Industrial Means team in the industrialisation of various projects and manage the supply chain to ensure on-time, on-cost and on-quality deliverables.
Reports to: Industrial Means Manager
Job Profile:
· Act as an interface with suppliers of Industrial Means for operational activities:
· Prepare call for tenders and issue request for quotations in-line with Airbus policy. Raise purchase orders and track and monitor through to delivery.
· Assess suppliers during tendering phase and contribute to the selection decision.
· Assess the Supplier capacity, capability & performance and contribute to supplier development.
· Manage/contribute to supply chain & quality aspects of the contract being responsible for On time, on Quality (and on Cost when applicable) performance. Report on supplier operational performance.
· Manage supplier quality approval ensuring that suppliers are compliant with the certifications required in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
· Monitor and support new product introduction to ensure industrial qualification maturity.
· Identify the supplier industrial risks and propose mitigation actions.
· Review supplier quality performance and agree appropriate action plans.
· Raise Non-conformance Reports and see through to closure.
· Lead/ contribute to new product introduction, changes, to ensure industrial qualification maturity before serial phase.
· Work out short term recovery plans- Able to deal with complex quality events.
· Support the SCQM on quality topics & supplier qualification, lean, manage changes, audits & assessment, technical knowledge (if requested).
· Participate in delivery review boards and manage handovers to the relevant teams and departments.

• Suppliers on ADS approval list.

Skills/Experience Required:
Essential Requirements:
• Good experience in supply chain management
• A demonstrated competence and relevant experience in project, procurement or product development management.
• Knowledge of the current project management tools (SAP, Ms Project, Excel, Word, and PPT)
• Ability to lead negotiations
• Ability to work in a cross-functional team in a multi-national matrix organisation
• Ability to understand the challenges of the program beyond the scope of their own work and take those challenge into account in the execution of the work
• Work style characterised by good teamwork, autonomy, initiative and cooperation
• Good communication and interpersonal skills and social competence
• Ability to facilitate the exchange of information and lessons learnt between functions, projects and organisations.
• Efficient and organised with an ability to work effectively under pressure
• Demonstrates a behaviour of continuous improvement.

Education & Training:
  • Diploma or degree or similar education
  • Strong experience in a similar role
