- Role: Satellite AIT Shift Lead EngineerRate of Pay: Please apply for further detailsLocation: Stevenage - This role will be working on site full time - free parking is providedWorking Pattern: 37 hours per week. A blend of – Monday to Friday day and early/late shifts. 20% rate uplift during times of shift workingLength of Contract: 12 months - Possible extension after initial contract durationTravel: Occasional travel to other UK and overseas sitesJob Summary:The AIT Shift lead is responsible for completing all tasks as defined in the daily build plan across all the electrical and mechanical tasks for the assembly & integration planned for that day’s work in the clean room.Reporting To: AIT ManagerDirect Reports: A small group of up to ten techniciansInternal Relationships: The AIT teamExternal Relationships: The quality teamJob Profile:The AIT Shift lead shall:
- Advance alternative work to minimise downtime when tasks are disrupted,
- Carry out pre/post shift handover documentation
- Lead SQCDP meetings
- Prepare operational work plan/documentation
- Ensure correct H&S practices are adhered to in the clean room
- Co-ordinating test for critical integrations (Solar arrays, deployments)
- Co-ordinating critical systems tests (mechanical/electrical )
- Shifts will be a combination of days, earlies and lates (and possibly nights) within a reasonable period of notice
- Opportunity for working on other UK and overseas sites
Skills/Experience Required:Essential:- Satellite build experience
- Leadership experience
- Manufacturing engineering knowledge
Desirable:- Use of digital manufacturing execution tools
- Deployment of Satellite Solar Arrays
- Deployment of Satellite Antennas using Helium Balloon
