- Role: Supply Chain ManagerRate of Pay: Please apply for further detailsLocation: Portsmouth - This role will be working on site full time - free parking is provided for this role, Option for flexible working 3 days on site 2 days WFH.Length of Contract: 12 months - Probable extension after initial contract durationWorking Pattern: 37 hours per week, Monday-Friday, daysTravel: Occasional travel to other UK and overseas sitesJob Summary:The primary interface with the nominated Supplier(s) and responsible for the relationship between the supplier and Airbus. Be fully responsible for managing the purchase phase of the supply chain core process and deliver hardware to projects on time, to cost and fulfilling all performance and quality requirements.Presence on site at the supplier’s to build open and trustful relationship with their employees and management.Provide support to all aspects of the Supply Chain process for hardware and participate in schedule and cost improvement initiatives within Airbus and with suppliers

Work with suppliers to getJob Profile:• OQOT delivery of hardware from suppliers• Day-to-day contact with the supplier and management of contract implementation (multi-project, international); timely and accurate reporting to PSMs; facilitate appropriate technical interaction between project (MSC/MPC) and supplier• Acquiring in-depth knowledge of supplier leading to effective control and improvement of the supplier• Identifying risks and proposing/agreeing and ensuring implementation of mitigating actions• Completion of annual supplier evaluation (with appropriate support)• Local follow-up/support to development plans (defined by SDM)• Escalation at the supplier or within Airbus as relevant
Skills/Experience Required:Essential:· A least 5 years of experience in activities which have allowed you to acquire sound skills and knowledge of: Procurement / Engineering / Quality/ Manufacturing· Strong communication skills including active listening and empathy· Strong negotiation skills and the ability to persuade, influence and convince· Excellent skills in relationship building, team building, empowering, motivating others and conflict management
Desirable:· Degree in Engineering, Business Management or equivalent (HNC or equivalent procurement level)· Background in Aerospace, preferably Space industry· Ability to anticipate, assess and mitigate risks· Procurement IT tool knowledge would be a benefit (SAP experience)· Negotiation level of English
