Description of the Job:A great opportunity has arisen in Airbus UK for someone to join the A330 Component Delivery Team as an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Controller.▪ As the successful candidate you will work symbiotically with the A330 Management Team to drive, support and implement activities to secure the rigorous implementation of the Airbus EHS policy and procedures including, in particular, but not limited to:▪ Accident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis.▪ Risk Assessments, risk reduction and risk review plans.▪ EHS Training Plans▪ Environmental management plans▪ Local Emergency Management plans.▪ Management monitoring with clear improvement actions.▪ To evaluate local EHS performance data with the CDT Management team, providing focus and driving actions on any possible areas of concern.▪ To manage and facilitate the weekly and monthly EHS review meetings within the business, ensuring the involvement of both senior management and employee representative. These meetings are to be conducted with clear governance and rigour.▪ To seek and drive new ways of working with respect to EHS initiatives and approaches within the business to continually promote better performance and engagement.▪ To facilitate and ensure the effective communication of EHS matter across all operating levels of the local A330 organisational structure.▪ To provide robust input and support during the introduction of new equipment and methods of work within the business.▪ To brief local management, Trade Union Safety Representatives and the wider team on EHS process changes.▪ To compile and maintain all necessary local performance indicators, statutory records and other local EHS data and files as required.▪ To provide ‘Toolbox Talk’ training sessions as required.▪ To act as the initial point of contact within the business for all EHS issues such as induction, visitors, insurers and enforcement agencies.▪ To work in partnership with their local Trade Union Safety Representatives.▪ The role functionally reports to the central EHS team on environmental, health and safety matters, and within the role, you will be expected to cooperate with the EHS team on matters of EHS strategy, policy, process and method as necessary.Given the high aspirations of the A330 business and the varied nature of the role, this is a fantastic opportunity for a tenacious and motivated individual to work in a challenging yet rewarding environment, delivering value and incremental EHS improvement to the Broughton plant.
Desirable Attributes/Required Skills:▪ NEBOSH accredited or working towards a NEBOSH general certificate.▪ Good working knowledge of applicable legislation guidance and best practise.▪ Ability to work autonomously.▪ Strong communication skills.▪ Drive and tenacity to drive EHS improvements and innovation.▪ A reliable, conscientious ‘completer/finisher’ who takes pride in adding value for the customer.▪ Willing to diplomatically and objectively challenge individuals and organisations at all levels.▪ Portfolio of evidence of the ability to produce and deliver high quality management presentations.
