Role Overview:The Airbus Landing Gear Centre of Engineering is looking for new team members to join them at their Bristol Office in Filton as a Landing Gear Structures Engineer. We are looking for people who can carry out structural analysis tasks in support of the landing gear and equipment.You will work in a complex environment that makes up the landing gear system and there will be opportunities to work across a range of products. Also, you can get involved in a number of stretch assignments with access to a wide range of training and development opportunities.Day-to-day you will be interfacing with other Engineers, other parts of our business such as the Final Assembly Line (design queries and concessions), Chief Engineers, Customer Support and Procurement and our vendors. We welcome applications from someone looking for a new challenge and wants opportunities to progress in the future.We are looking for talented engineers who are passionate about what they do and can apply their knowledge and experience to develop safe, reliable but innovative solutions for our products and improvements in our methods, tools and processes.Responsibilities:• Ensuring all activities are carried out in compliance with all relevant policies for static and fatigue analysis• Ensuring that the delivery of each activity meets safety and technical needs with robust adherence to system processes• Creating the structural analysis certification baseline documentation for the landing gears, and subsequent modifications• Interfacing with Specialists and technical signatories to ensure compliance to certification requirements and methodology and obtain approval of results• Supporting trade studies, in-service events, landing gear component modifications, weight variant evolutions• Reviewing of supplier’s structural analysis reports and providing technical acceptance and drawing appropriate conclusions• Ensuring adherence to budget and schedule for each activity; managing and mitigating risks / opportunities and communicating in a timely manner to stakeholders and customers• Managing the offloading of activities to sub-contract suppliers• Proactively problem-solving issues and ensuring the maturity of the product is maintained• Mentoring, coaching and developing others while acting as a role model• This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity. Skill Set:Essential:• Structural analysis experience – both fatigue and static• Aerospace experience• Demonstrate strong communication skills and a fluency in both verbal and written English
Desirable:• Hold a degree level qualification in Engineering or a related discipline• Landing gear experience
