- Role: Quality Conformance EngineerRate of Pay: Please apply for further detailsLocation: Filton - fully on siteWorking Pattern: Shift pattern Monday-Thursday 06:30-15:45 or standard flex shift pattern working Monday-Friday if preferredLength of Contract: Until 31/12/2023 – possibility of extensionRole Overview:A vacancy has arisen within the Quality function for the position of Quality Conformance Engineer, Reporting to the Head of Quality Conformance A400M.This role is part of A400M Quality Conformance Team (QMOI2).Responsibilities:• Conduct tasks in line with Conformance Engineering principles, leading to a reduction in the Cost of Non Quality by generation of business KPI’s and analysis of trends• Work alongside the Quality Line side team, functional teams and multifunctional teams to identify, deploy and report on Quality Improvement opportunities in line with overall business and plant objectives• Facilitate / lead Quality Improvement Projects (QIP) activities to enable clear ownership of topics, improvements opportunities and actions resolution through networking and team working within the business to achieved required results• Escalation of issues impacting the Quality performance occurring in the business by the analysis of KPI trends to mitigate business impacts• Facilitate / lead implementation, application and coaching of Quality toolsets, processes and techniques within manufacturing areas to support business requirements (e.g. APQP, Error Proofing, Problem Solving, etc.)• Generate and deploy the AOS Quality standards within the Plant (e.g. Customer Protection Board standards, Operational Surveillance requirements, Control Plan, etc.)• Review and create Operational Surveillance check criteria to ensure consistent build standards, quality standards and operator competence is obtained within the Plant• Conducting and leading Quality investigations into complex / technical issues from the business and customer ensuring appropriate corrective and preventative actions are taken with the use of appropriate toolsets and multifunctional team inputs• Oversight and maintenance of CAIRs to ensure timely clearance of any issues to mitigate impact on key delivery milestones (CAIR Key User standards)• Facilitate / lead reduction of Non-allocated Concession (NAC) impacting Plant perimeter• Coordinate / lead clearance of Plant QSR, SARI and Events in a timely manner engage appropriate functional teams for support• Create and maintain E2E Quality Gate templates to enable business, supplier and Industrial Partner to obtain Quality standards continuity resulting with overall project Quality Gate targets are achieved• Development of personal knowledge, skills and competence thus ensuring that Quality Conformance Engineering support is effective and in line with objectives• Ensure Environment, health and safety and airworthiness requirements are achieved• Provide necessary support to customers and authorities as required
Skill Set:Essential:• The successful candidate will demonstrate the Airbus behaviours relevant to the professional operating level• Have previous experience of process improvement• Excellence communication and report writing skills• Experience of working with and leading multi-functional teams• Good level of general IT skills (Including Microsoft Excel, word, google, etc.) and advantage if able to create coding / macros• Good SAP knowledge with ability to interrogate SAP and export reports• Recognised Training in problem solving techniques & methodology• Advanced English and mathematics
Desirable:• Knowledge of Airbus quality gate and events process an advantage• Knowledge of aircraft manufacture• Hold an engineering degree
