Our client is an international leader in airport cargo & ground handling operations who span across 198 airports in 22 countries and over with 27,000 employees world wide.
We are looking for a talented and forward-looking IT Manager to lead our clients UK IT function. This is an exciting time to join the company as they expand into new facilities as well as modernise and simplify the IT service.
You will be responsible for the IT service for the UK business, bringing expertise in technology and infrastructure management. Your team will comprise an Operational Systems Manager who has responsibility for the core business applications and device management, and an IT Support analyst who provides support across a range of applications. You will be responsible for managing and developing your team. IT helpdesk and day-to-day support of the network and infrastructure are performed by a managed services provider which also provides a full-time on-site IT engineer at Heathrow.
Responsibilities:
- Providing a reliable and high-quality IT service to a range of operational, customer-facing, shared service and management functions
- Managing the IT team and taking responsibility for their career development, wellbeing and performance
- Managing suppliers to ensure continuity of service, rapid incident resolution, and value
- Bringing insights and leading practices to continually improve the UK IT service
- Identifying and evaluating technologies that may transform the customer offer and operational excellence
- Working with our clients global IT community to standardise and leverage best practices
- Documenting and presenting costed proposals
- Communicating with business sponsors and end users to understand user and functional requirements
- Liaising with business analysts and other team members to understand the business operation
- Documenting user requirements and solution designs
Essential Requirements:- 5+ years of experience in a senior operational IT role, ideally with management responsibility
- Broad knowledge and first-hand experience of IT infrastructure and networking
- A competent Manager able to lead teams of employees
- Experience managing supplier contracts and day-to-day contact
- Experience Managing procurement processes
- Experience Managing projects involving the development and deployment of new solutions involving hardware and software
- Experience in administration of Microsoft O365 and Active Directory
- Experience in AWS administration, ideally Cloud Practitioner AWS certified
- Experience in managing a cost centre, project finance and budgeting
- Excellent English language skills, both verbal and written communication
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively at both technical and business level.
