- Role: PCB Technical SpecialistRate of Pay: Please apply for further detailsLocation: Portsmouth - This role will be working on site full time - free parking is provided for this roleWorking Pattern: 27 hours per week, Monday-Friday, DaysLength of Contract: 12-months - Possible extension after initial contract durationTravel: Occasional travel to other UK sitesJob Summary:Within EPA CoC - Electronics Parts & Assembly - Expertize and Laboratories team (Space Equipment/Space Systems) we are reinforcing our transnational PCB expertise and specialist team in order to secure and develop the global supply chain (from design, supplier, to customer):To support new PCB technologies qualification in accordance with ECSS-Q-ST-70-60C.To support the make entities for the PCB procurement process.To support the supply entity for electronic equipment procurement.To participate in the regular technical surveillance of our PCB suppliers.Job Profile:To support new PCB technologies qualification in accordance with ECSS-Q-ST-70-60C and NewSpace/NextSpace requirements:- High frequency PCBs- High density Interconnect (HDI)- Flexible PCBs- Lead free surface finishTo support the Make entities for the PCB procurement process:- Perimeter : mainly Portsmouth & Stevenage, but also other sites if necessary- PCB Technical Authority support during initial PCB design phase as per ADS.E.1047 Airbus DS PCB design rules requirement- Support supplier selection- Perform MRR, including technical review and risk analysis- Ability to perform Final Customer Source Inspection (including PCB inspection at PCB suppliers premise, test coupons and PCB inspection, reporting of results, IST reporting analysis, analysis of request for deviation)- Support resolution of PCB issues- Participation to IRB
To support the supply entity for electronic equipment procurement:- Perimeter : mainly Portsmouth & Stevenage, but also other sites if necessary- Review of Statement of Compliance towards Airbus DS standards for PCB- Review of Request for Deviation/Waiver- Support Material and Process team request during MPCB for PCB verification and approval- Technical support in case of PCB issues, including PCB manufacturers outside Airbus DS qualified suppliers
To participate in the regular technical surveillance of our PCB suppliers:- Perimeter : Airbus DS qualified suppliers for all PCB technologies (flight and Engineering Models)- NCR follow up (root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions implementation)- Process Change Notice
Skills/Experience Required:Essential:- Technical knowledge of printed circuit board.
- Working within companies who have built PCB
- Strong communication skills
Desirable:- Knowledge of ESS and IPC standards.
- Experience of manufacturing readiness review (MRR).
Working Pattern:- Monday to Friday days
Travel:- Occasional travel to other UK sites
Extension:- Possible extension after initial contract duration
