- Role: New Product Introduction ManagerRate or Pay: Please apply for further detailsLocation: Portsmouth - Following a familiarisation period on site this role will involve hybrid working averaging 3 days per week on-site and 2 days per week working from home – but candidates must be able to work on site full time when required – free parking is providedWorking Pattern: 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday, DaysLength of Contract: 12-months - Possible extension after initial contract durationTravel: Regular travel to other UK sitesJob Summary:The NPI manager is in charge of ensuring that the new product is produced according to the market demand in terms of quantity, quality, schedule and cost.The NPI Manger is the link between the engineering team and the manufacturing team so that the product developed can be manufactured efficiently.The NPI manager is the project team representative to address all the production related topics with the EMS.The initial brief for this role will be to work on the Proteus project – a cutting edge communications programme in charge of delivering highly efficient satellite modems. The Proteus team is a multi-functional team involving hardware and software development, testing, sourcing, services development etc.Reporting To:

- Proteus Sourcing Manager
- Proteus Engineering Lead
External Relationships:- Suppliers
Job Profile:Define the industrial manufacturing strategy (including shop cost target/industrial investment/assets) based on the overall manufacturing strategy defined for the Proteus project portfolio.Plan & perform all necessary activities required to ensure the industrial manufacturing strategy implementation and to setup the industrial verification of a product/solution (assembly lines, test benches etc.)Plan & perform the manufacturing activities to develop the manufacturing capabilities from prototypes, pre-productions to production ramp-up and mass productionPlan & perform the manufacturing activities to maintain the delivery capability of the product during its commercial lifeContinuous improvement of the manufacturing capability (manufacturing cost decrease, yield increase etc.)Monitor and maintain the delivery capabilityPlan & perform the activities for the delivery capability when the phase out of a product/solution is decidedSkills/Experience Required:Strong experience in the manufacturing of electronic/communications products in a high scrutiny environmentGood knowledge of the workings of a complex projectEducation & Training:Strong experience in a similar roleWorking Pattern:Monday to Friday daysTravel:Regular travel to other UK sitesExtension:Possible extension after initial contract durationBase of Work:Following a familiarisation period on site this role will involve hybrid working averaging 3 days per week on-site and 2 days per week working from home – but candidates must be able to work on site full time when required – free parking is provided
