Job Purpose:To support the evaluation, coordination and monitoring of achieved levels of conformity in the product, process and services provided by the Manufacturing Business.To provide specialist Quality support and advice on drawings, parts, processes and support services, and to independently assure that Quality requirements have been met.To process confirm that operations teams staff are developed to attain the necessary knowledge / skills, performance and experience and that the tools, systems and procedures with which they work are developed to support efficient business processes.Major Activities of Quality Line Side Engineer:Assures that the Quality system is being adhered to within the business by the business through surveillance activities.Assures that certification processes are consistently defined and applied within the business.Coordination and leadership of reported quality / technical issues from business teams and customers, ensuring that appropriate corrective and preventive action is taken by the accountable function through use of multifunctional team activities and that the originator of the issue is informed.To perform initial investigations (e.g. Events, QLB’s, NC’s) to assess probable root cause, informing the accountable function and ensuring corrective and preventative action is taken (ambition is within one shift) preventative action to be taken through problem solving analysis through multifunctional team activities..To perform process conformation and surveillance activities on all the product and process related activities conducted by those individuals who have been granted certification privileges.To conduct investigations to assess the probable root cause of any deficiency noted during process confirmation activities, informing the accountable function and ensuring corrective and preventive action is taken.The facilitation of the use of Quality tools and techniques within the business area.Creation of customer protection and visual management of issues.Data collection for conformance management teams.Provide support to customers/authorities as necessary
Quality Line Side Engineer Skills:Lineside engineers are required to display the following core competencies:Ensure Customer Focus:Acts with “eyes of the customer” - Puts customer satisfaction at the forefront of decision makingEnsure Product Safety:Ensures product safety is secured via process confirmation both of operational staff and operating process procedures and tools as well as concurrent certification. Ensure POA is maintained.Support Non conformity reduction activity:Support Non conformity reduction using localised data analysis and root cause investigations, work with functional and operational teams to find innovative solutions to reduce non conformities.Team Working:Promotes and encourages co-operation and co-ordination between teams. Strengthen relationships between functions /operations through clear communication stylesAct with integrity:Act as the conscience of the business. Acting as an independent advisory whilst maintaining a pragmatic response to issues as they arise. Demonstrate with coaching style:- Seeking feedback- Providing role model for behaviour- Communicating as much and as often as required- Ensuring that Company Health & Safety policies and procedures are observedTask Support & Execution:Ensure that task manager believe they are adequately supported- Generate for approval relevant departmental reports- Co-ordinating the MFT resource to work on tasks as required- Ensuring Manufacturing Manager & Quality Operations Manager are supported - Ensuring quality of output from MFT resource group- Contributing to work on tasks as part of a group activity where required- Prioritisation and escalation of tasks and issues where necessaryCompetency requirement of Lineside engineer:● Ability to interpret drawings● Ability to problem solve and use associated problem solving tool sets (PPS, 5Y, Ishikawa etc)● Good interpersonal skills - ability to challenge appropriately whilst maintaining strong relationships● Data analysis skills - interpret data sets, graphical data and draw conclusions● Work well as part of an integrated team alongside operational and cross functional team members● Quality or Engineering based background (desirable) within a major manufacturing industry
