Role: Production Planner / Planning and Control
Reporting to: Production Manager
Rate of Pay: Please apply for further details 
Location: Farnborough
Working Pattern: 37 hours per week. Monday-Friday. Days
Length of Contract: 6-months

About AALTO:
AALTO’s Zephyr is a High-Altitude Platform Station (HAPS) and is the only one of its kind to have demonstrated day/night longevity in the stratosphere. Providing a persistent and adaptable solution, unlike other unmanned aircraft. Its persistence enables a capability of flying continuously for months at a time, at around 70,000 feet, above weather and conventional air traffic.
 
The newly established entity shall become the leading Global HAPS Connectivity as a Service (CaaS) provider for the Mobile and Satellite Network Operator market – connecting the diverse needs of our customers – whether for rural, overlay capacity, disaster recovery or new services provision. In addition, it shall offer Platform as a Service (PaaS) to the Institutional and Military markets for Earth observation, tracking and communications requirements, as well as operating a global fleet of carbon neutral HAPS platforms – powered by sunlight.
 
Job Purpose:
The scope of this role is to deliver Production Planning solutions to enable manufacture and delivery of the HAPS Zephyr Aircraft platforms and associated Ground Support Equipment to fulfil the HAPS Global Business Case.
 
Responsibilities:
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
· Manage production order system and records
· SAP Sales Order creation and demand creation
· Production scheduling
· Production resource and capacity planning
· Securing material OTOCOQ supply to production including inventory level management
· Inventory and raw material planning and control
· Supply chain management
· J&T/MGSE planning and control
· Develop and maintain Performance metrics
· Regularly review and report status/performance
· Contribute to exchange of information across the business
· Continuous Improvement of the Production processes and identification of cost saving initiatives
 
Experience and Qualifications:
Essential Skills & Experience:
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
· Experience of using of SAP
· Critical path analysis and schedule control
· Excellent organisational, communication and negotiation skills
· Ability to build and develop relationships with key stakeholders
· Demonstrated experience of pro-actively solving technical problems
· Ability to work flexibly as part of a team
· Quality conscious working method and organised approach to tasks
· Enjoy using own initiative, working unsupervised and taking responsibility for own work package
· Providing technical input and advice on processes and procedures and ideas for improvement
· Detailed working knowledge with MRP/ERP system
· Able to obtain UK SC Clearance
 
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience of working in manufacturing / engineering, ideally aerospace or automotive
  • Experience supporting the management of high value, technology development projects
  • IT skills appropriate for the role
