Description
TARCG is searching for an experienced Part 145 MRO Base Maintenance Manager to join our client, a leading UK-based Maintenance Repair Organisation (MRO) based at Norwich Airport. Our client has 5 fully equipped modern heavy maintenance bays across 3 hangars and over 40 years of experience on many aircraft types, including Embraer 170/190, Boeing 737 CL/NG and MAX, BAe 146 & Avro RJ and Fokker 70/100 types. The MRO is currently going through an exciting period of growth and will be opening a new hangar and workshops later this year to increase our capacity to 6 lines of narrow-body aircraft maintenance.
 
This position would suit a UK Citizen looking to relocate to Norwich and join a well-established MRO on a full-time basis. You'll need to be an experienced Production/Bay/Deputy/Maintenance Manager who has an excellent reputation and extensive experience managing base maintenance inputs such as C-Checks etc. An EASA/CAA CAT B1/C Part 66 AML with 737NG or EMB 170/190 Type endorsements is desirable. 
 
This position would not suit engineers who are not able to relocate, don't have maintenance management experience, or have existing UK working rights. Our client is not providing sponsorship for non-UK residents and requires full location with a commutable distance from Norwich airport. 
 
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
Inspire and lead a team of approximately 250 people to safely deliver Base Maintenance aircraft inputs on time and on budget. Create an environment that promotes and supports open reporting and continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with H&S, airworthiness standards, and Company Procedure.
 
DIRECT REPORTS:
  • Deputy Base Maintenance Manager
  • Project Managers, up to 6
  • Resource Controllers X 2
  • Base Maintenance Administrator
 
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • On-time and on-budget delivery of base maintenance inputs
  • Performance of Base Maintenance personnel
  • Development and succession planning for Base Maintenance personnel
  • Labour availability, competency, and efficiency
  • Building strong working relationships with Customers and main interfaces
  • Compliance with airworthiness standards and company procedures
  • Learning from incidents and focus on strategic improvements to address root causes
  • Budgetary input and control. Forecasting and explaining variances
  • Safety of personnel. Promote/introduce safety initiatives to reduce lost-time injuries
  • Cleanliness and tidiness of facilities
  • Timely and effective closure of audit findings
 
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Relocation to Norwich is essential
  • Proven management experience in an aviation MRO environment
  • Minimum 3-years Base Maintenance experience (preferably in management positions)
  • Acceptable to regulatory authorities as Form 4 holder
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen
  • Existing UK working rights, sponsorship is not provided
