- Role: Extended Enterprise Industrial LeaderRate of Pay: Please apply for further detailsLocation: Filton – hybrid working is an option, but flexibility is key, min 60% onsiteWorking Pattern: Standard 35 hours across 4.5 days (working between 7-7 at business discretion)Length of Contract: Until 03/03/2024 - Possibility of extensionTravel: Limited travel within UK or internationalThe Industrial Leader role is required to support the Extended Enterprise Industrial team in undertaking Industrial trade studies links to engineering change proposals. The individual will support the MFT and ME activities required to carry out the task, including tooling impact assessment , condition of supply, Manufacturing Specifications, BoM comparisons and general ME queries as part of the Industrialisation assessment. key interfaces will be working with the design team, ME team members and suppliers linked to the engineering change area. Although based in Filton and allowing for Covid restrictions there will be a requirement to travel to support the MFT.Accountabilities:● The jobholder is a member of the ME Extended Enterprise Industrial team, responsible to provide manufacturing expertise to support Airbus plants and Suppliers in the context of ME Capability.● The jobholder is the main interface ME Extended Enterprise Industrial team between the Plantand the Suppliers regarding Extended Enterprise Industrial activities on Series Programmes.● The job holder is responsible to ensure robust communication to and from the ME program leader and MFT, in person or via the ME MFT representative and all other customers/ stakeholders.● The job holder will ideally be multi skilled in detail parts and assembly manufacture, or assembly and installation processes relating to metallic or composite products and associated tooling experience.
Job description:Main activities:Design / Manufacturing changes – proactive engagement in the Continuous Product Development processes, applying ME expertise in concurrent engineering and industrialization aspects linked to Industrial trade evaluations.Cost Down - Individually or as part of an MFT proactively understand and influence cost drivers of a particular product or work package – such that opportunities for cost down can be qualified and quantified.Engage with ME MFT representatives and others, such that all commercial and contractual implications are properly considered within the Procurement environment when assessing change proposals linked to Industrial trade evaluations.Ensure integration, architecture and engagement of the wider business network within DLS or other areas – to proactively manage risks and opportunities in an efficient and effective manner.Continuous Support - Provide continuous support to the supplier, proactively managing all issues within the scope of Extended Enterprise Industrial and associated missions.Seek continuous improvement to suppliers ME capability, be that product or process, standardizing and harmonizing across the business, whilst clearly demonstrating bottom line / value adding orientation.Industrial trade evaluations - Review technical documentation linked to industrial processes and seek to assure supplier compliance to Airbus requirements e.g. grams or serial equivalent.
Outputs:Delivery of all ME missions to which job holder is applied, on time, on cost and on quality.Industrial Trade study assessment. Proactive management or all commercial and industrial risks / opportunities via due business process and engagement of stakeholders. Appropriate and timely escalation of issue and recommended solutions.Clear and concise communication, reporting to and management of stakeholdersDemonstrated behaviors which are consistent with the “current” Airbus values at all timesCompliance to all functional requirements, e.g Time and Attendance etcRecommendations for improvement of product, business process or way of working, whilst demonstrating a business case mindset.
