- Role: Automation Machines and Systems EngineerRate of Pay: Please apply for further detailsLocation: Broughton, Flintshire – onsite requirementWorking Pattern: Standard 35 hours per week (working 4.5 days between the hours of 7am – 7pm, hours agreed at business discretion)Length of Contract: Until 01/10/2024The team is responsible for the deployment and support of automated machinery for the manufacture of aircraft wing structures and sub-assemblies. Manufacturing processes include machining, forming, drilling, fastening, cold-working, sealing and painting.The scope of automated machinery ranges from large milling machines and industrial robots to lightweight solutions and collaborative robots (cobots). Core activities include defining new machinery, developing new automated manufacturing processes, project management and providing technical support to existing machinery.Responsibilities include:• Define the requirements for new automated machines and systems, manage their installation, test and acceptance and entry into service.• Develop improvement ideas and new processes for existing automated machines.• Manage Capital investment projects and participate in multi-functional teams to deliver actions on time and cost. Support CapEx process for medium scale and high value investment projects.• Provide automation support to other Airbus departments and suppliers.• Provide problem solving expertise, technical knowledge and machine data analysis to support machinery in production.• Be a technical focal point within the plant for automation systems (as part of the core team).
Candidate to demonstrate:• Qualification and or experience in the field of Industrial automation and/or Robotics.• Robust Project Management skills. Ability to work within an MFT as a contributor and in some events leader.• Proficient digital and data analysis skills / experience with statistical or data analysis software tools would be advantageous.• Practical problem solving techniques and methodologies.• Knowledge of advanced techniques is preferred.• The ability to understand, translate, communicate and present complex data in meaningful terms to a non-technical audience and/or senior stakeholder.• A good awareness of existing automation and/or robotics in the Aerospace industry is desirable
