Job Title: General Manager
Location: Nigeria
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £90,000 to £100,000 (+ bonus)

TARCG has an exciting new opportunity for a General Manager to work with our aviation client located in Nigeria. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the strategy of the business and ensuring that all agreed goals and targets are being met. The successful candidate will also have commercial responsibilities and will be required to seek new opportunities for business development.
  
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure long-term business development in the area of responsibility
  • Ensure the development of an annual business plan and budgeting for the CSC based on the corporate/ regional specific objectives and strategy in coordination with the relevant interfaces
  • Explore  and initiate new business relationships and opportunities in conjunction with Regional Sales and services in order reach/maintain profitable market share and achieve revenue and profit objectives
  • Maintain business relationships with key customers and align operation plans in order to provide support to Sales & Service
  • Ensure the development and implementation of short- and mid-term planning on products and services in coordination with Sales & Services and other relevant interfaces. Ensure efficient and timely corrective actions in case of significant deviations
  • Oversee the CSC’s economic and operating performance. Ensure that the CSC is managed and controlled efficiently in line with the company’s framework and market requirements. Lead the CSC to achieve the budget targets and initiate corrective actions if necessary
  • Ensure optimal deployment of human, technical, financial and material resources
  • Ensure that the CSC’s work methods are in line with the company standards and customer contracts
  • Initiate and evaluate capital expenditure requests
  • Ensure and control continuous optimization of processes and share best practices
  • Ensure the compliance with safety, security, health, environmental and quality guidelines provided by corporate and local regula­tions and customer requirements
  • Ensure clear communication and close co-operation with all relevant internal and external interfaces
  • Ensure the compliance of CSC with respective legal requirements (incl. Corporate Governance Code)
Leadership
  • Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed and directed
  • Guide, motivate and develop the directly and indirectly subordinate employees
  • Ensure a sustainable organization by recognizing talent, planning, training, coaching, hiring and succession planning
  • Make the company's values and management principles live in the CSC
  • Plan, implement and control the cost and investment budget in the area of responsibility; initiate and steer corrective actions in case of deviations
Required Skills & Experience:
  • University degree/Graduate level or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience in production/operation/logistics with focus on HR, finance, customer service
  • Sound knowledge of airline catering processes incl. Hygiene and Quality (HACCP) a plus
  • Experience in managing a multi-cultural environment, preferably in Africa
  • Proven track record of leadership skills
  • P&L management experience
  • Fluent in English
  • Competencies: analytical, conceptual thinking, customer focus, concern for order, intercultural awareness at a very high level, negotiation and communication skills
  • Knowledge in processes and standards is a plus
