- Role: CNC Miller/Setter/ OperatorRate of Pay: Please apply for further detailsLocation: Stevenage - This role will be working on-site full time - free parking is provided for this role in a local car parkWorking Pattern: 37 hours per week - Monday to Friday - weekly rotating double day shifts – ad hoc opportunity for extra hours mid-week & weekendsLength of Contract: 12-months - Probable extension after initial contract durationJob Summary:The CNC Miller – Setter/Operator will be machining a variety of precision parts, for composite and sandwich panels, from a range of materials – all conforming to the exacting standards of the space manufacturing sector.Job Profile:Setting and operating a 5-axis milling machine with Siemens and Heidenhain controls (or similar)Reading engineering drawingsUsing metrology tools such as Verniers, micro meters etc.Setting up tools, jigs and fixtures correctly and within company standardsProducing parts to tight drawing tolerances as required by internal and external customer specificationsResponsible for meeting Health & Safety standardsResponsible for working efficiently, maintaining a clean work area and minimising wasteReporting to a Team LeaderThere is a small element of basic programming with the role5-axis experience is essential
Skills/Experience Required:Setting and operating a 5-axis milling machine with Siemens and Heidenhain controls (or similar)Strong skills in tool setting and knowledge of tooling requirementsTime served apprenticeship would be ideal
Education & Training:Essential:Strong experience in a similar role
Desirable:C&G or ONC/HNC in mechanical or production engineering
Working Pattern:Monday to Friday - weekly rotating double day shifts – ad hoc opportunity for extra hours mid-week & weekends
Extension:Probable extension after initial contract duration
Base of Work:This role will be working on site full time - free parking is provided for this role in a local car park
